EFAP Australia has been hiring AEDs for many years. Located in Hobart, Tasmania, we hire AEDs to the community and workplaces in our local area.

Unfortunately, 55 Australians suffer a cardiac arrest EVERY DAY when going about their daily business, and if they are not at a hospital, less than 8% of these Australians survive. (Heart Research Australia)

As it happens:

A cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating.
It is a medical emergency that can lead to death.
With urgent medical care to restart the heart, survival is possible.
Cardiac arrest treatment steps are:

Call. Push. Shock.

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately, start chest compressions and use a defibrillator (AED) if available.

CPR performed by a bystander immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a patient’s chance of survival. Using a defibrillator within the first minute of sudden cardiac arrest, can potentially bring the chance of survival rate up to 90%. (Heart Research Australia)
